St. Julies NP Parish Councils

PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL

The Parish Finance Council assists the pastor in planning the budget and overseeing and controlling the financial affairs of the parish.  Members are appointed by the pastor because of the their expertise in financial management, accounting, legal matters, fund raising and other related fields.  Meetings are held quarterly.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL

The Parish Pastoral Council is a group of parishioners united in prayer who, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, make recommendations to the pastor regarding the pastoral needs of the parishioners.

The Parish Pastoral Council exercises shared responsibility for the pastoral life of the parish under the authority and leadership of the pastor.  The purpose of the Council is to prayerfully engage the people and the pastor in common reflection about the parish’s mission and ministry.   The Council has four basic responsibilities:

            To research the needs, ideas, and hopes of the faith community;

            To lead a process for identifying the parish mission and involving the parishioners in that mission;

            To encourage and support existing ministries;

            To plan for the parish’s future by recommending procedures and programs that will reflect the Church’s mission.

The Council consists of eight to twelve members, together with the pastor, who are selected at an open parish meeting held in June each year.
